PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

This is the Parent Code of Conduct which we require all parents to sign for their children to participate in our football programs.  It is a great tool to communicate expectations of what type of parent support and behavior is acceptable and appropriate to support the children participating in our programs.  Parents should read, understand and sign this form prior to their children participating in our league.

The BBYF program has a history of being the best in providing a positive sportsmanship environment for our players.  As a member of BBYF we require our parents and players to:

1.      Encourage members of both teams.

2.      Keep all comments positive.

3.      Only players, coaches, board members and game day parent volunteers are allowed on the field.

4.      Leave coaching to the Coaches.  If you have suggestions, please ask to speak directly to the Head Coach after the game.  If you would like to coach next year’s team, please let AD Miguel Andrade or the President know. In order to coach, you must attend the mandatory coaching clinics, pass a background check, and study and pass the required coaches written tests.

5.      Not engage in any unsportsmanlike conduct such as: criticizing, booing and refusing to shake hands. Abusive language, cursing or yelling at the officials, coaches, players (of both teams), opponents or fans will not be tolerated.  This is youth sports, everyone makes mistakes.

6.      Be a positive role model and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or sporting event.

7.      Understand that parents are responsible for all family members and guests attending the games to watch your child.

8.      No alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed at any league Event.

9.      Help us make this a positive experience for all remembering that children participate to have fun and grow and that the game is for the youth, not adults.

Any parent or guest guilty of not adhering to these requirements will be addressed as follows:

1.      At ANY league event, practice or competition, any adult who verbally abuses, attempts to intimidate, is flagrantly rude, or cannot control their language or action with an official, coach, or board member will be asked to immediately leave the event. His/her child(ren) may be immediately removed from the event. He or she will receive a written warning regarding their behavior and be suspended from the next weeks practice and game.

2.      Any adult that commits a second offense will be banned for league events for the remainder of the season and their child(ren) may be removed from league for the remainder of the season.

3.      Any adult who physically assaults an official, coach or a board member will be banned from the league and their child will be removed from our program for one (1) year from the date of the offense. After one (1) year, the parent may apply for re-instatement of his or her child. If the adult commits a second, similar offense, he or she will be banned from the organization and the child(ren) may be permanently removed from the league.

4.      Any adult engaging in any action which reflects negatively on, or causes embarrassment to, the BBYFC program is subject to disciplinary actions of the association and/or conference.
