WELCOME TO THE BAYSIDE BRONCOS YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER!

OUR MISSION

Mission

The mission of the BBYFC is to provide eligible youth with highly competitive, positive, safe environment to learn the fundamentals of football and cheer while focusing on the importance of academics and encouraging good sportsmanship and teamwork.

Philosophy

The BBYFC organization is committed to providing each child with an enjoyable learning experience. We understand that the primary reason children participate in sports is to have fun while competing with their friends. We believe every child matters and should be given the opportunity to learn and improve his or her knowledge and skills in a safe and supporting manner. We will provide them with that opportunity. We believe that while competing to win is important, the greater value lies in competing with honor, practicing good sportsmanship and being gracious in victory and defeat.  BBYFC is committed to excellence in football and cheerleading and dedicated to: Pursuing Victory with Honor, Adhering to the rules of competition and sportsmanship, Promoting the six pillars of character both on and off the field; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship

Football and Cheer information
Our football season officially begins on August 1st by national rule. Practices are held at Carlmont High School in Belmont. Practices are five (5) days a week starting August 1st until the 3rd week of August.  Practices are then reduced to at least three (3) days a week for the rest of the season. Practice times are 6:00-8:00 p.m. Practices are held on weekday evenings, with some Saturday practices. Dates and times are subject to change as needed to accommodate use of practice facilities or game schedules. Each Head Coach will have his or her own requirements for practices and participation in games, as well as having to follow league rules.

Mandatory Conditioning
Conditioning is a crucial part to be successful on the field. Conditioning prepares players physically and mentally to perform at their top peak on the football field which is always important to be successful as a team. Football players must complete 10 hours of conditioning to be allowed to participate in full pads.   The 10 hours of conditioning must take place at practice in the presence of a coach.  Typically, the first 10 hours of conditioning happens the first week of practice in August.

The Football Season
The Pop Warner Football Season is kicked-off with a pre-season Jamboree Game that's played on the Sunday. There are eight (8) games in the regular season, generally four (4) home games and four (4) away games.  Home games are played at Carlmont High School. The official game schedule for the season will not be released until after Certification Day, and subject to changes during the season. There is an entrance fee at the Jamboree game and all post season games for ages 16 and up.

Parent Participation
The Bayside Broncos Football and Cheer program is ran entirely by volunteers. Without volunteers we would not be able to have a successful program. Parent participation is vital part of the success of our program, we require each family to fulfil a minimum of ten (10) volunteer hours per season. In addition to the 10 volunteer hours, each family will be requested to provide either halftime snacks( orange slices or another type of fruit) and end of game snacks or drinks at least once or possibly twice during the season.

BECOME A SPONSOR

The Bayside Broncos Youth Football and Cheer is a non-profit organization serving San Mateo County for over 30 years.  We are dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of football to our youth, while focusing on the importance of academics.  Our 100% volunteer driven organization rely on donations to be able to thrive. Playing football is rewarding and teaches valuable life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and respect to the 100 kids we reach each year.

Every year, we need to pay between $15,000 to $20,000 in equipment, helmet and shoulder pad reconditioning, buying new uniforms, renting the field, paying the referees, the medics and other game related expenses. Additionally, we want to make playing football accessible. 20 -30% of our players can play because of the scholarships we offer. Without your help, they would not be able to play.  Our organization is a recognized as a non-profit, so your donation is tax deductible!
