(1) What does it cost to play football or cheer?
Our fee schedule is posted on the Registration page.

(2) What does the registration fee include?
The football fee includes the following equipment - helmet, facemask, practice jersey, game jerseys, pants, pads, and mouthpiece. This equipment is returned at the end of each season. The player is expected to provide his own cleats, socks, athletic supporter and padded compression shorts.
For cheerleading, the registration fee includes pom-poms, socks, hair bow, uniform top, uniform skirt, and briefs. Each cheerleader gets to keep all their equipment.
Additionally, fees pay for the field space, field equipment and game day referees.

(3) What is the practice schedule and location?
The practice schedule is up to the individual Head Coach and staff for each team or squad. Under National Pop Warner rules, before school starts teams or squads may practice for no more than 10 hours per week.

(4) When does the season start?
Per Pop Warner rules, practices are allowed to begin August 1st.
|

(5) When and where are games played?
Home games are on Sundays at Carlmont High School beginning late-August to early-September. All away games will be played at the opponents field. The opponent's will have their own game day and start times. Post-season game locations are chosen each year. Please reference our Game Schedule page for details.

(6) Is the football full contact?
Yes, the football is full contact tackle football for each division.

(7) Is experience necessary?
No, Bayside Broncos is a developmental league. This means we teach each child beginning with the basics. This holds true for football and cheer.

(8) Are there try-outs?
No, try-outs are not allowed. Every child is assigned to a team or squad based on their age, weight and possibly experience level.

9) How will my child be assigned to a team?
For football, Bayside Broncos uses the National Pop Warner age/weight matrix to first determine which division a child will play in. From there we look at special requests, location, schools and experience level. For cheer, Bayside Broncos looks at special requests, location, and schools.

(10) What ages are allowed to participate?
Ages 5-14 years as of July 31st for the current season year are allowed to participate.

(11) Are you looking for coaches?
Yes, Bayside Broncos is always interested in new coaches to form new teams or assist with the current ones.

(13) How is Pop Warner Football organized?
Pop Warner Football is an International organization. The United States it is divided into Regions, Leagues, and Associations.

(14) What Region is the Bayside Broncos Association a member of?
The Bayside Broncos Association is a member of the Pacific Northwest Region.

(15) What League is the Bayside Broncos Association a member of?
The Bayside Broncos Associat0n is a member of the Peninsual Pop Warner League.

(16) What cities are members of the Bayside Broncos Association?
The Bayside Broncos include Belmont, San Carlos and Redwood Shores.

(17) What is the goal of the program?
Bayside Broncos' goal is to develop the community’s youth by providing a quality program that, through football and cheer, focuses on the positive aspects of sports and creates an environment that is ‘Fun, Safe & Fair’.

(18) What makes Pop Warner Football so different from other youth sports programs?
Every aspect of the Bayside Broncos Pop Warner Football program is governed by the organizations’s basic Philosophies: Everyone plays, open registration, good sportsmanship, and positive coaching.

(19) How are teams formed?
Typically, Bayside Broncos fields a single team in each of the Tiny-Mite, Mitey-Mite, Junior PeeWee, PeeWee, Junior Midget and Midget divisions. Players are assigned a team based on the Pop Warner Age/Weight matrix. Please reference our Team page for details.

(20) What is meant by Tiny-Mite, Mighty-Mite, Junior PeeWee, PeeWee, Junior Midget, Midget, Bantam, Unlimited, Bantam?
These designate the age divisions within Pop Warner Football. Pop Warner Football has 9 divisions. Your child’s division of play is based on his/her birthday (the season cutoff date of July 31st) and his weight. Bayside Broncos field teams in the first 6 divisions.

(21) Can my child play in a younger division?
National Pop Warner has strict guidelines concerning a childs age and weight for determining the appropriate division for a player. It is possible for a player to qualify for more than one division. Please review the Pop Warner Age/Weight chart to see which division is a fit for your player. You may want to contact our Athletic Director to help determine the proper division for your player.

(22) Can my child play in an older division?

(23) For carpooling reasons, convenience or any other reason, my child would like to be on the same team as his/her neighbor, or classmate, or schoolmate is this possible?
Pop Warner has specific age/weight guidelines to ensure that players of equal size and maturity compete with one another. Bayside Broncos follows these guidelines. It is possible for a player to be eligible to play in multiple divisions. Please contact our Athletic Director to discuss your player's options.

(24) Will my child get to play in all the games?
Yes. One of the basic principles of Pop Warner Football is Everyone Plays. Nationally, Pop Warner Football has a Minimum Mandatory Player Requirement. Bayside Broncos not only meets this requirement, but we attempt to exceed the minimum play quota whenever possible.

(25) Do I have to volunteer?
Pop Warner Football is a volunteer organization. No one is paid for the privilege of assisting the community’s youths, and ensuring a ‘Fun, Safe & Fair’ environment. (26) How do I become a coach?
Let the Bayside Broncos know that you would like to coach. This is accomplished by checking the ‘Coach’ box under the volunteer section of your child’s registration form. You can also contact the President or Coach Coordinator. Use the contact list in the ‘Parent Handbook’ or visit our Contact Us web page. Every prospective coach must fill out a volunteer form, and attend a coach certification clinic.

(27) Can I coach my child’s team?
Yes. If a coaching position is open in your child’s division we will accommodate your request. However, you must, prior to coaching a team meet the requirements as laid out above.

(28) How do I become a referee?
Refereeing is great way to volunteer. Please contact our Athletic Director. A contact list is available in the Parent Handbook or on the web site contact link. You can also indicate your desire to referee by checking the appropriate box on your child's registration form. You will be required to fill out a volunteer form and attend certification clinics.
